Disadvantaged Population: Day Habilitation Services


GVIEN helps individuals with disability to grow while socializing with peers. This helps foster their ability physically, mentally and emotionally by participating in various meaningful activities.

Day Habilitation services are designed to provide to people with disability in need to intensify their habilitation by offering them services that foster their personal growth and opportunities for physical and social integration within their community. The mission of GVIEN-Inc. Day Hab. program is to enhance our individuals' quality of life through various meaningful activities and social interaction. GVIEN-Inc. Day Habilitation program focuses on the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of constituents. Services include:

• Training and assistance in daily living
• Developing basic safety and communication skills,
• Leisure and recreational activities to enhance mobility and promote good health,
• Behavior modification techniques to curb inappropriate behaviors, and
• The supervised use of community resources to increase self-sufficiency.
• Development of social behaviors and communication skills
• Training and assistance in developing competency in housekeeping skills.
• Training and assistance in developing competency in personal care skills
• Training and assistance in developing health care skills and mobility training
• Training and assistance in developing money management skills
• Provision of individual and group social, health-related, and recreation activities

Day Habilitation staff utilizes methods, materials and settings that are age-appropriate, culturally inclusive, and take into account the developmental levels of each individual in the program. Incorporating community activities, facility-based training, prevocational activities, and supported employment, Day Hab. program enables individuals with developmental disabilities to become more integrated into the community.
